Corrugated steel constructions

Corrugated steel structures (CSS) have several considerable advantages in comparison with traditional used concrete structures.

CSS have high level of adaptability to the changes of ground conditions, seismic resistant, and have great breaking strength. The use of various steel grades allows to use CSS in regions of extreme temperatures.

• The use of various antirust coats to certify service life of CSS for about 75 years, whereas concrete structures serves about 25-35 years.
  
  

  

• The production of CSS consisting of standard corrugated steel sheets allows to produce in plant conditions and to transport structures of any size and shape. Concrete culverts can be made only 3 meters long, because of complexity in transportation. Shipment cost of 1 running meter of CSS is lesser then the concrete one in 10-15 times. It can be transported about 350 running meters of CSS 1.5 meters in diameter in one gondola wagon.
  
  
• The period of construction of CSS is less 5-7 times than the concrete structures. There is no need for using special expensive lifting mechanisms. Moreover the assembly of CSS is year-round that is not acceptably for concrete structures (e.g. in winter period).
  
  
• As is shown by the experience of CSS use in road-building, construction costs reducing on replacement concrete box culverts by 30-77%, and concrete bridges – 50-97%.
